VR & Tech Camp 2025

July 14th to July 18th
Norfolk's VR Tech Camp will be held all week from 10AM to 2PM. Campers will enjoy virtual reality games and technology activities including data science, radio science, electronics, and more. The day usually starts with gaming and we order pizza or subs for lunch and after lunch our technology session begins. We bring in local community professionals to teach for an hour and campers get to take home projects on some days. Check back for our detailed 2025 activities. Our camp is a hit with kids and we keep the number limited to 15 max campers per day. Snacks and drinks are always on hand and lunch is an additional $5.
Last year activities
- A military (gone commercial) pilot came to discuss aerospace and show how to fly on our simulator.
- Our retired Navy Master Cheif, David Clark, taught electronics and the campers built an electronic organ to take home.
- The Norfolk Fire Department brought their big truck and talked to the kids.
- Our local amateur radio club, WAARC member, brought morse code keyers and radio equipment for finding hidden transmitters (called a fox hunt) and the kids learned about direct finding.
- Finally we had a day of programming where some kids learned how to edit websites and virtual reality environments.
